I know a lot of gadgets like Slingbox are very popular, but I had to cut the cable monster years ago, and I can’t justify the astronomical cost. So I watch just about everything online now, purchase DVDs when they come out (significantly cheaper than cable!), and for the rare show or two that I can’t wait to see and isn’t available online, I use “alternate means” to see the show. I do so without guilt as I know I’ll be purchasing the DVDs the instant they come out.

A couple of years ago, I traveled ALOT & mostly out of the country. This made my TV viewing life pretty difficult as unless you are traveling to specific regions of the world, you do not get the CW or SyFy, etc. I started buying seasons of TV I couldn’t live without on iTunes (even though I would have them waiting for me on the DVR when I finally made it home). This way, I could take them with me on the next jaunt & catch up even if I had not yet caught up on the DVR.
