Saturday B Movie Reel / Re: Camel Spiders
« Last post by Kevin Bachelder on April 15, 2017, 02:43:22 PM »
Hey,
I was reading the other day about some Roger Corman titles, and that included some of the Syfy Channel movies he produced. "Camel Spiders" got mentioned, so I came to the list here, and did not see it listed.

As such, I am curious if that was incorrect or if it was accidentally left off of the list here?

Thanks!

Camel Spiders was not officially a Syfy Original Movie so that's why it's not listed in the database that we maintain.  It has aired on the Syfy channel though.

It's OK, not a great one.

Off-the-air Shows / Re: Life on Mars

It's been a long while since I saw the US series, but as I recall, the US adaptation was too similar at the start (pilot was exact copy), and it did go on its own track, but for me it was too little, too late to carve its own path. The casting puzzled me too - some heavy hitter film stars who didn't modulate their performances to more nuanced/authentic characters (Harvey Keitel in particular).

That and the cast from the US series just didn't have the chemistry of the UK series, I thought Colm Meany was decent in the pilot but recasting Gene Hunt and replacing him with the usually reliable Harvey Keitel just didn't work.
