3.14 Long Distance Call
Fairly predictable episode really, it was nice to hear Jeffery Dean Morgan again, I probably would've liked this episode more if they left it somewhat ambiguous as to if it really was John trying to call Dean.
Yes, it was very disappointing to know that John wasn't really on the phone. But who knows - he "went to the light" at the end of season 2, maybe he can come back some time (though I doubt it since JDM's career has taken off so much he's tough/expensive to get).
3.15 Time is on My Side
I didn't care for the monster in this episode but then I can't think of anything I've see where I've liked Billy Drago's performance, Dean finally discovers who is holding the contract on his soul and Bela finally gets her just deserts ( and I didn't really care ).
I liked the opening where they are interrogating the demon and seeing how wrecked Dean is about the Deal when the demon says there just waiting to get him... gulp.
The best parts to me were seeing Dean really DID plan to kill Bela, and then decided hellhounds was a better punishment (irony there too). I really liked Rufus Turner too as yet another 'cautionary tale' the hunter's life. I liked the
idea of Doc Benton a lot more than the execution of the performance. He didn't really seem menacing, just.... sad. Though that melon ball scooper scene is still a standout for the shuddery grossness looming over our dear Sammy. And wow, Sam will even go for the "undead Dean" option using weird science to keep Dean out of hell. I liked the ending shot where we see them burying the guy from the distance. Nice reminder of how unnatural Sam and Dean's lives are.
3.15 No Rest for the Wicked
Does Clive Barker know Eric Kripke stole his version of hell ?, I was waiting to see Pinhead step out of the shadows.
Apparently Lilith is a Twilight Zone fan

With all that being said this was a pretty good episode, certainly much better than the craptastic season 2 finale although if it was me I would've killed Ruby while she was still in the demon trap since she was obviously up to no good.
Sprinklers fueled with holy water - nice !
So ends season 3 !
Jesse had the same comment about the story/TZ episode after seeing how Lilith spent her shore leave! I also wondered why Dean didn't just knife Ruby while she was caught in the Devil's Trap. The question of "how did Ruby get out of the devil's trap" was a big fat plot bunny to me too. I have not seen any of the Pinhead movies, so not sure if that's
Hellraiser, but I believe Ruby told Dean in Malleus Mellosuccodrama that Hellraiser was pretty close to hell, but without all the custom leather.
I'm glad you enjoyed season 3 overall.
