We have a new telling of a classic story on the next Syfy Original Movie. On February 11th we get Jules Verne’s The Mysterious Island.
Here’s the description…
During the American Civil War five northern POWs make the decision to escape the war by hijacking a hot air balloon. Drifting through the night, they wake to find themselves marooned on a desert island, but they aren’t alone. Littered with wreckage, the island is home to cast of survivors who have been lost in space and time including two young women from modern times who become stranded while flying over the Bermuda Triangle. Faced with defending themselves against vicious pirates, terrifying creatures, and an active volcano that’s ready to blow, they must find a way to survive and escape the island. The cast includes Gina Holden, Lochlyn Munro, Mark Sheppard and W. Morgan Sheppard.

Our next Syfy Original Movie gives us a volcano disaster movie in, of all places, Miami. On January 28th we get Swamp Volcano (aka Miami Magma).
Here’s the description…
Oil rig drillers in the Gulf of Mexico accidentally hit an underground lava flow, causing a massive volcano to form in Miami. Now a volcanologist and her sister attempt to blow the whistle on an illegal oil drilling scheme before it sets off the eruption that will destroy civilization.
