Our parent network, Farpoint Media, is experiencing some technical issues that may very likely impact your ability to download or stream our podcasts and other audio content. We do not know when this issue will be resolved, but hopefully it will happen within the next 24 hours.
If you try to steam a podcast on our site and receive an “Error opening file,” then this is the cause. If you attempt to download the program via other means and get a “Service Unavailable” or other error message, then this is likely the cause.
We will update you when this issue is resolved, and we here at Tuning in to SciFi TV sincerely apologize for any inconvenience that this may cause.
UPDATE: Things seem to be returning to normal now, but you may notice some slowdowns for the next day or so.

Today is the anniversary of Tuning in to SciFi TV’s first podcast! Brent, Kevin and Wendy started the podcast to have an opportunity for a little more conversation about our favorite TV shows, and many of them are now your favorite shows too!
A Quick Review of Year One:
- We talked a lot! We recorded over 54 hours discussing our favorite TV shows
- You talked a lot too! Between the voicemails, emails and forum threads the conversation just keeps going.
- We discovered some great new TV shows like Fringe, True Blood, Warehouse 13, and FlashForward altogether.
- We got people to check out other great TV shows like Supernatural, Medium, Being Human, The Middleman, and The Guild.
- We ran some cool contests and polls.
We don’t always agree. Part of the fun is the variety of perspectives. Thanks to all of you for listening and sharing with us. There’s plenty more entertaining conversation to come!

We are very excited to announce that we have been named as a finalist in two categories for the fourth annual Parsec Awards.
The Parsec Awards recognize excellence in speculative fiction podcasting and the winners are announced during an awards ceremony held each year at Dragon*Con.
Shows are nominated by the fans and finalists are chosen by a yearly steering committee. Those finalists are then voted on by an independent panel of judges so it doesn’t matter how long you have been podcasting or how many listeners you have. These awards are based on merit.
We are a finalist in the ‘Best Speculative Fiction Fan Podcast’ category as well as ‘Best “Infotainment” Cast’.
You can find a complete listing of all the categories and finalists here…

We moved this blog along with our forums and podcast files to a new web host yesterday. Along with the move we need to change our DNS information and that can sometimes take 24-48 to completely propagate so if you’ve experienced any “oddities” lately that’s probably why.
Sorry for any inconvenience.

Tuning in to SciFi TV is joining the Farpoint Media network of podcasts! As a result, we will be migrating the web site (blog and forum) over to some new servers in the near future. During the transfer of the web site, the forum will be unavailable and in “maintenance mode.” As soon as we’re settled in our new place, you will automatically be allowed back in to the forum. This should happen within hours, but could take as much as two days for your ISP to recognize the move. Please be patient.
Thank you all for listening and letting us grow like this. And thank you very much for your patience during this move.
